    About networks

    There is hardly any field of educational action where the notion of network(ing) has not been postulated as a guiding principle and a key competence of practitioners at all levels of the hierarchy. It is this new key competence to act in inter-personal and inter-organisational networks the project ComNet, funded by the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, aims to enhance.
    Also in this EU funding programme networks play a prominent role, and the programmes' expectations of networks are rather high:
    A network is to become a key player in its respective educational field at European level and fulfil multiple, ambitious functions. With a view of the limited resources and fragile organisational basis of many networks, however, we are convinced a network should be realistic about what it can achieve and focus on three core functions:
